The readiness of Kosovo Universities to switch to online classes due to COVID situation – the IT perspective

KPN December 22, 2020

Today is organized successfully the first workshop as part of the project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science – “The transformation process from in-campus classes into online classes due to COVID-19 pandemic situation – the case of Higher Education Institutions in Kosovo “.

This workshop addressed the readiness of the technology infrastructure for Universities within Kosovo to provide online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the main leaders of this process, the IT offices of the participating Universities shared their experiences to support the realization of online learning and teaching, by ensuring the quality of service, as well as the sustainability of the infrastructure within their campuses, or even the services used as part of Cloud technology.

The participants were representatives of UBT (Krenare Pireva Nuci, Betim Gashi, Osman Osmani, Ereza Baftiu), University of Prishtina (Hajrullah Hajrullahu), University of Prizren (Geron Ademaj, Xhevat Kallaba), University of Gjilan (Valon Syla), IBCM (Flamur Abazaj).

As a coordinator I am very happy that through this project this topic is being addressed at the national level, and by various aspects: the aspect of computer science, education and public policy.
